My Unexpected Obsession

Last week’s post was a little more serious than my usual jam, so let’s keep things light this week, shall we?
Confession time: I’m very attached to my drinking vessels.
(Wasn't expecting THAT, were you? 😂)
I have favorites for every occasion… even holidays. Coffee mugs, wine glasses, martini glasses - each one has its own place in my rotation. Of course, I also have a favorite water bottle and tumbler , but they’re a bit too “functional” for the spotlight. 😝 So instead, let me introduce you to some of the stars of my beverage lineup.
☕ Coffee First, Always
I have to start my day with caffeine - usually a homemade vanilla latte (sometimes with almond!) or a chai. And it needs to be in a mug that sparks a little joy. Enter: the owls. I have a set of them, but the warm rust-colored one is my go-to. If he’s in the dishwasher, I’ll reach for the blue-eyed guy, who’s a rich, chocolatey brown. 🦉

When I’m on the go, I grab my custom Yeti, designed by my talented sister Christy. Ironically, she informed me that my “simple needs” aren’t so simple – as I requested multiple revisions before it got my stamp of approval. 🙈

Speaking of being on the move, I’m not giving up my morning ritual just because we’re camping. I bring along my Colorado mug, created by my ridiculously creative friend Anna. She photographed natural elements and then recreated the Colorado flag with them and printed it on a mug. Instant good mood.

If we leave the campsite, it’s back to the Yeti-- this one sporting a mountain line drawing again, crafted by Christy. (I was far less picky this time. Growth! LOL. 💪🏻)

We’ll skip over the water vessels - they’re workhorses, not show ponies. So, it’s on to wine...
🍷 Pour Me a Glass… of Personality
This part may read like a Crux Winery ad, but I truly love their wines! Owners Brian & Heidi are dear friends, so I often send them these photos when when I sip.
Stubby: A solid, everyday glass with a plump bowl and thick stem. Comfort glassware.

Waterford: These crystal beauties are from our wedding registry (hello, 1998!). They’re heavy, classic, and make me feel just fancy enough. We've only broken a couple over the years - pretty impressive, right?

Camping Glasses: Functional over fancy. No glass in the woods, thanks.

The Nook Glass: At our tiny mountain condo, I reach for stemware embellished with aspens- Colorado vibes only.

QUEEN: Reserved for birthdays or for those super-duper-extra-fantabulous days. You know the ones!!

Halloween Goblet: I LOVE this one, and I’m not even a fan of candy corn. It feels great in my hand and it screams October. (Yes, I have other, “spookier” ones, but this is the one I always go for.)

Christmas Beauty: This one might be my all-time favorite. Bejeweled and delightfully tactile, it’s the first thing I unpack when we decorate for the holidays. I only get to use it for a month, which makes it feel extra special.

🍸 Shaken, Stirred, and Seasonal
Martini glasses? Oh, I’ve got a collection. Most are Christmas-themed, and choosing one feels like selecting the right outfit for a cocktail party.

My “everyday” set was made by my friend Allegra - I saw them on Facebook and immediately knew I needed them in my life., and commissioned them.

And my newest treasure? A Mother’s Day gift from Ken:
“A woman cannot survive on wine alone… she also needs dogs.”
TRUTH. 🐶🐾

So tell me… am I the only one with this beverage-related quirky obsession? Do you have favorite vessels, goblets, or grails? I’d love to hear what’s in your libation rotation!
