Snow!
We’ve had a fair amount of snow since bringing Churro home in December, and he absolutely loves it! Good thing, too, because it hasn’t melted - a rare sight for Colorado. 🤪 But since it's here, it makes the perfect backdrop for backyard photos. 📷 So let’s kick things off with a little photo dump of some of my favorites.

Training Progress: Impulse Control & Leash Work
This week, we worked on more impulse control, place, leash work, and recall. I don’t record evvverything - just a sampling when I remember and can juggle both the camera and training. But here’s a quick highlight reel of our progress in about six minutes. Be sure to check out the end where Churro waits for his dinner so nicely - SUCH an improvement!
Queso: The Comfort Seeker
Queso has always been a social guy, and this week he’s been seeking comfort from any visitors who stop by. This time, he made himself at home on my friend Dawn. He’s such a love.

Brotherly Bonding
These two are getting along so well! Here are some cute togetherness moments from the week.

And check out my adorable greeting committee -I went across the street to grab the mail and came back to these faces! 🥰

First Solo Walk with Both Dogs
I walked them together by myself for the first time! It was a total mental and physical exercise, managing their zig-zaggy leashes and their pace, but we did it! (And yes, it wore them out too.)
Playtime!
Queso loves playing keepaway, but Churro hasn’t quite figured it out yet.
A little side-by-side play session for good measure.
Mischief & Discovery
This is repeat information, but it’s still happening. 😝 If we ever accidentally leave the kitchen towel hanging over the edge of the counter, even just an itty-bitty corner of it, Churro will notice it and will run off with it.

I occasionally pull out the wobbly Bosu ball, and Churro does not hesitate to climb on top (mostly to dig at the recessed plugs 🤷🏻♀️), but hey - it’s a great balance exercise!

Queso has now shared his rock obsession with Churro - something we’re actively trying to discourage! Which means we now get to stand outside supervising in all sorts of weather. But it makes for some fun videos. 🤪❄️
Snowstorm Adventures
A massive storm dumped a ton of snow on us. I was trying to clear the driveway before Ken got home from the airport (where it was clear and dry, with blue skies - of course!), and Churro “helped.”
Later that day, the sun came out for us, too. Here’s my little snow baby soaking it up.

Dishwasher Discovery
Remember last week when I mentioned Churro had figured out the clean/dirty cycle of the dishwasher? Well, this morning, he realized that clean dishes provide a splishy-splashy tray at the bottom. He may have even ended up inside the dishwasher. 🤦♀️😂
Introducing Churro to Cornhole
Since Churro is a winter baby, he won’t be naturally exposed to some of our summer activities. I know some dogs get freaked out (or overly excited!) by the sound of bags hitting cornhole boards, so I dragged one of our boards out to toss a few. At first, he was a little concerned, but he got over it quickly. And I was sooo surprised he didn’t try to grab any of the bags and run off with them! This is the whole process from beginning to end, just condensed for easier consumption. (And no, you don’t want me on your cornhole team. 🤪)
And lastly, Churro got to model the color blue for me this week. 💙
